Our place is a new hostel located in a historic building! As one of the only hostels located within walking distance of the French Quarter, we are the perfect launching point for your adventures in New Orleans.
Madame Isabelle was a longtime tenant of the neighborhood, and we are honored to carry her namesake. Rumor has it that her spirit lives on in one of the local cats that often frequents the hostel, so treat her well and she’ll treat you well, too. We hope to see you soon!

Is there parking?

We don’t have a parking belonging to the house. However, there are ample street parkings near the house within a couple of blocks.

When you say street “parkings”, do you mean pay and stay parking lots or just a spot to leave your vehicle on the street.

Yes you can have both near the hostel. You can have spots within a block to park your vehicle for free 24/7.
Also you can choose an option to leave your vehicle on a paid parking lot nearby if you want more secure place for parking. It usually costs $20-$25 per day.

No. We don’t have a curfew. We are using electronic keys to access the main door for 24/7.

My first time staying in New Orleans was here. Really really unique hostel. The staff is very outstanding . They provide you with great service. The hostel has the everything you would possibly forget at the house. It’s in great walking distance to Bourbon St and also Frenchmen St. My friend and I visit from Memphis stayed in the private room ,really nice room, and decided next time we come back that we will be staying there again. So thanks to the owner for opening the place. That place made my New Orleans experience great. Also s/o to the amazing cook that prepare a wonderful meal for us. Her food was 🔥🔥🔥
So I recommend this place 💯x💯% if you need somewhere to stay.

This was by far the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in! The location was perfect, right next to the French Quarter and few blocks from Bourbon Street, the house and garden were beautiful and the staff was incredible. They had nightly events like music tours, pub crawls, and dance classes. If you’re the kind of traveler who wants to meet people and make new friends then stay at Madame Isabelle’s. I’m already planning my next trip back to New Orleans and definitely plan on staying here again. Thanks for making our trip an unforgettable experience!
This place is fabulous what a wonderful scenery a beautiful relaxing Oasis with hot tub palm trees huge huge space. Cool people cool vibes fresh and relaxing
I came two months ago and it s still a good memory. Sean, Amber, Tina, Jake… all the team is nice, very kind and caring for hosters.

hello! i have a bed reserved for jazzfest weekend one and I’m wondering if you have bicycles (for rent or loan) on site ? and also where the closest bus stop is? I’ll be coming from the airport (louis armstrong). thank you!

We currently have 1 bike available for rent but we’ll hopefully have more by the time you arrive!
As for getting here, buy a 24hr or xfer pass then take the E2/8 to Loyola St. You can then use the same pass for the Tulane streetcar which will bring you 1 street from our front door!
PS Google Maps is pretty accurate with the transit times and directions

I am staying here this weekend, solo, in the girls only room, 8 beds. Do we get keys to our rooms, or just the main door? Also, what is the best way to store personal belongings for safety purposes if there is no locked storage?

You get a key for the main door as well as a key for your room. In the rooms we have lockers and if you want to leave your belongings at the hostel after the check out, we have a locked storage room.

How close are you to the airport?

Our location is at the French Quarter. By driving, it usually takes 30 minutes from/to the airport. It could take 10-20 minutes longer when rush hours. Thanks,

Thank you for your question. Yes we are now working on fixing the damages from the hurricane, planing to reopen at the end of October – November. We try to open soon, and we will also make sure that Madame Isabelle’s House would be comfortable and safe place that our guests could enjoy as much. Check-in after 10pm would not be problems. When you check in after 10pm, you will get a late check-in email for your self check-in including a passcode for the main door and location of your room. Thanks!!

If it is a shared room, then the bathroom will be shared with your roommates. Also we have three private rooms with ensuite bathrooms and one with a shared bathroom.

I have stayed in many a hostel, and this is by far the best experience I have ever had. The rooms and washrooms are luxurious and very well equipt for a comfortable stay. The common areas are beautifully decorated and laid back. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we all enjoyed our stay and met our individual needs with much flexibility. They offer a complimentary breakfast and coffee every morning, we were served a delicious vegetarian jumbalaya one night, and on another night they offered free drinks before leading us on a pub crawl.
This little oasis was one of my favorite parts of my visit to NOLA. Thank you Madam Isabell’s for such a 5 star experience!
This hostel is for sure one of the best I’ve ever stayed in. Super comfortable dorms with enough space for everybody and a nice backyard with a hot tub. The staff was great and always made sure to include all the guests in the activities. I’m leaving this place with so many good memories 🙂
The staff here are very professional and accommodating. The rooms are cozy and comfortable. I was able to relax and met great people during my stay. Would definitely stay again..
